CPSEs procurement from MSEs reaches Rs 1.39 lakh cr
New Delhi, Feb 14 (KNN) The total procurement made by Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) from Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs) stands at Rs 139,322.27 crore as on February 9, 2023, said Minister of State for MSME, Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha on Monday.
Sourcing the information from MSME Sambandh Portal, the data revealed that procurement from MSEs owned by SC/ST stood at Rs 1,182 (0.85%) and from MSEs owned by women is Rs 1,412.03 crore (1.01%).
He highlighted that a third-party study has been conducted by M/s Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India on Public Procurement Policy for MSEs Order, 2012 and the final report was submitted to the Ministry of MSME on October 16, 2022.
As per the findings of the study, there is an overall appreciation of the policy.
The impact of the policy on aspects such as, turnover, individual reputation, employment growth, and production capacity expansion is positive, said the study.
The government is conducting awareness programmes regarding the policy, added the minister. (KNN Bureau)
