Credit to MSME on govt's priority list: MoS Finance Shiv Pratap Shukla

New Delhi, Dec 1 (KNN) In a bid to assure financial support to the sector, Minister of State for Finance, Shiv Pratap Shukla said that the government will continue to provide monetary support to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and support entrepreneurship in the sector.

Shukla made the following remarks yesterday while addressing a session on 'Green Finance for SMEs in 21st International Conference on SMEs (ICSME) , organized by the World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises in New Delhi.

He added that the government had always been supportive to the cause of MSMEs with budgetary support been provided from time to time and this year’s would also be fruitful for the sector.

In his keynote address SP Singh, Deputy General Manager, SIDBI listed the initiatives of SIDBI to offer green finance to the MSMEs. He said that SIDBI has partnered with various multi and bi-lateral agencies and financial institutions to tie up special lines of credit for promoting green finance in India.

JD Agarwal, Chairman, Indian Institute of Finance, SIDBI, Tushar Pandey, Independent Expert and LC Sharma, Executive Director, IIRD, Shimla also addressed the session on green finance.

The theme of this year’s ICSME is 'Achieving inclusive and sustainable industrialization by promoting SMEs: Small Business, Global Impact'. This conference aims to integrate SME development initiatives with the United Nation's 2030 agenda of achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). (KNN/AG)
