DC-MSME in process of upgrading and expanding the network of Technology Centres

New Delhi, Apr 25 (KNN) DC-MSME, Ministry of MSME, has extended the last date for submitting Expression of Interest for appointing a consulting firm as a Technology and Cluster Manager (TCM) till May 3, 2017.

In order to increase business opportunities for MSMEs through new market linkages and enhance competitiveness of the cluster business environment, Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME) is in the process of upgrading and expanding the network of Technology Centres (TCs) - also referred to as Tool Rooms & Technology Development Centres.

The Ministry of MSME is upgrading existing TCs and establishing 15 New TCs at a total Project cost of Rs 2,200 crores including World Bank funding of USD 200 million under the Technology Centre Systems Programme (TCSP).

The TCs will be located in various parts of the country to cater to the needs of micro, small & medium enterprises through access to technology, skill development, consultancy etc.

In this context, the Government of India wants to appoint a consulting firm as a Technology and Cluster Manager (TCM) for providing services to improve competitiveness of the TCs and MSMEs.

The TCM will help create market linkages and enhance economic development to improve cluster competitiveness and facilitate technology development of the TCs.

Technology and Cluster Manager will also undertake capacity building of the clusters and TCs and evaluate existing training programs and develop new training programs for roll out at the TCs

In order to upgrade and expand the network of MSME Technology Centres (Earlier know as Tool Rooms & Technology Development Centres), a Programme titled “Technology Centre Systems Programme (TCSP)” is being implemented by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.

Technology Centres also serve workers and youth by offering opportunities for hands-on technical training and skill development. (KNN Bureau)
