New Delhi, Dec 31 (KNN) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the Delhi- Meerut expressway to decongest National Capital; the industry seem to be happy.

KNN caught up with small scale industry owners and associations who told that it is going to benefit the industries of Ghazibad, Hapur and Meerut.

Vipin Aggarwal the General secretary of Sahibabad Industries Association (SIA) told KNN that due to this project the trucks who come from Moradabad, Bulandsheher, Hapur, Haridwar, etc. can save their time.

He also said that the pressure will decrease National Highway 58 which connects Delhi- Meerut, after the completion of Delhi- Meerut Expressway.

Industry movement will increase, he added.

He suggested that there is a need of a bypass road for NH-24, so that the trucks who crosses Delhi to go other cities like Faridabad, Gurgaon can’t enter in National capital, helping to reduce the pollution in National capital region (NCR).

Ashwani Gera, Vice chairman of Indian Industries Association of Meerut told KNN that the trucks take time to reach Meerut around 4 hours, but after completion of the project it will be reducing to 40-45 minutes.

He said, it will help to boost the industries around the NCR.

The project will cost Rs. 7566 crores and will include construction of 74 Km long Delhi-Dasna-Meerut 14 lane Expressway and upgradation of 22 Km long Dasna-Hapur section of NH-24 in three phases. (KNN Bureau)
