New Delhi, Jun 4 (KNN)  Logistics service provider DHL Express India which has 37,000 small and medium enterprise (SME) clients in India has plans to conduct 30 clinics in various Tier II and Tier II cities next year.

"SMEs are our prime focus area and we are using different initiatives to help them. One such initiative is SME clinics, which will enable SMEs to get a first-hand glimpse of how to reduce cost and time by sending goods directly to stores instead of routing them via a warehouse, using our network.  Our experts at these clinics will address issues related to supply chains, finance and exports," said a media report quoting DHL Express' senior director, national sales Sandeep Juneja.

The focus of the clinics would be the logistic needs of the SME clusters, also touching upon human resources, marketing, finance and technology.

Significantly, more than half of DHL Express revenues come from small and medium units and the service provider is hopeful of a 30-40 per cent growth in business from the sector.

Exports according to Juneja create tremendous opportunities for SMEs, opening up new markets for their products and services.  In addition, it provides them with access to international best practices and innovations.

Although challenges remain for small units in the sector that wish to export, DHL is hopeful of making their transactions more efficient, providing them with solutions to compete globally.  (KNN)
