DIC Baramulla organises online training programme for registration of MSME units on GEM portal

Baramulla, Oct 22 (KNN) District Industries Centre (DIC) Baramulla on Thursday organised an online training programme for registration of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) units on the Government e-Marketplace (GEM) portal here.

Reportedly, the training programme was attended among others, by officials from DIC Baramulla, Tax Department and prominent MSME unit holders from district Baramulla.

Detailed training about procedure of online GeM registration was imparted by the business facilitator GeM (J&K) to the unit holders during the program.

On the occasion, the organisers briefed the unit holders about the GeM portal and urged them to register themselves on GeM portal as this would enable them to become part of a national level platform to sell their products.

GeM facilitates online procurement of common use Goods and Services required by various Government Departments/ Organizations and PSUs and also aims to enhance transparency, efficiency and speed in public procurement by providing e-bidding, reverse e-auction and demand aggregation.

There were also discussions on matters related to Tax payment with officials from the Tax department.
