Direct sale of food products from factory to consumers at Mysore Dasara

Mysore, Sept 16 (KNN)  The Food Subcommittee of the world famous Mysore Dasara 2014 is organizing an Ahaara Mela (food festival) to showcase and market products of food processing and manufacturing industries here.

Food products will be marketed under ‘direct sale from factory to consumers’ from September-25 to October-2, according to a release from Mysore District Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Association (MDMSMEA).

For the first time, the Food Mela will provide food processing and manufacturing industries with 10×10 and 10×20 stalls to show case their products.

Last year’s event saw nearly six lakh people visiting the Ahaara Mela, while about 8 to 10 lakh visitors are expected this year.

Participants from micro, small and medium enterprises are eligible for 50 to 80 per cent subsidy under Marketing development Assistance by Ministry of MSME, National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), and Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI), Government of India.

Furthermore, during the event Central Food Technology Research Institute (CFTRI), Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL), Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), National Mission on Food Processing (NMFP) will provide information on various support schemes and subsidies available for establishment and expansion of food processing and manufacturing industries by Government of India.  (KNN/ES)
