DSIR sets-up Common Research & Tech Dev hubs in Palampur, Hyderabad and Trivandrum

New Delhi, Apr 22 (KNN) The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) has established three Common Research and Technology Development Hubs (CRTDHs) to address the issues faced by the micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in research and innovation.

The Hubs have been established with an objective to foster industry-institution interaction and to address the problems faced in translational research by the MSEs providing thereby an eco-system for research and innovation in the country.

The CRTDHs will be extending technical support, infrastructure and sophisticated analytical as well advanced research equipment facility to the MSEs for carrying out competitive technological research to translate new ideas into marketable products as well as utilize the already developed technologies available in the institutes/laboratories for taking them to market.

The three hubs have been set up at CSIR- Institute of Himalyan Bioresource Technology (IHBT), Palampur, CSIR- Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad and CSIR- National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science & Technology (NIIST), Thiruvanthapuram.

DSIR has sought proposals from the MSEs to undertake work at the hub by utilizing the research and technology development infrastructure of the institutions. (KNN Bureau)
