DTDC Launches EDOT Digital Self-Onboarding Platform For MSMEs, Startups And D2C Brands
New Delhi, Jun 3 (KNN) Logistics company DTDC Express has launched a digital self-onboarding platform aimed at enabling micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), startups and direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands to access shipping services more quickly and efficiently.
The new platform, named Enterprise Digital Onboarding Technology (EDOT), allows businesses to complete registration, know-your-customer (KYC) verification, banking formalities and shipping activation through a fully digital process.
According to the company, businesses can complete the onboarding process in less than 10 minutes without requiring any manual intervention, reported PTI.
Platform Aims To Simplify Logistics Access For Small Businesses
The initiative comes at a time when increasing numbers of MSMEs and online sellers are expanding their operations through e-commerce platforms and digital marketplaces, creating greater demand for streamlined logistics solutions.
Industry stakeholders have frequently highlighted lengthy documentation procedures and activation timelines as challenges for small businesses seeking access to organised logistics networks.
Strong Early Adoption Across India
DTDC said the platform has already witnessed strong adoption, with more than 22,000 registrations recorded so far. Over 5,000 businesses have successfully completed the self-onboarding process.
The company noted that users have joined the platform from more than 2,200 pin codes across India, including several Tier II and Tier III markets.
Part Of Broader Digital Transformation Strategy
The launch forms part of DTDC's broader digital transformation strategy focused on automating customer-facing services and improving operational efficiency.
Recently, the company introduced an artificial intelligence-powered multilingual chatbot called DIVA to handle shipment-related customer queries.
According to DTDC, the chatbot currently manages over 150,000 shipment enquiries every month across more than 17 regional languages.
Faster Logistics Integration For MSMEs And D2C Brands
For MSMEs and D2C brands, the self-onboarding platform is expected to reduce the time required to establish logistics partnerships and simplify access to organised shipping services.
The move also reflects a broader trend within the logistics sector towards self-service digital platforms designed to improve accessibility for smaller businesses and emerging enterprises.
DTDC operates one of India's largest logistics networks and continues to expand its use of digital technologies amid rising competition in the country's rapidly growing e-commerce and MSME segments.
