Enhancing MSME sector on agenda for National Conference of Chief Secretaries

New Delhi, Jan 5 (KNN) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to chair the second National Conference of Chief Secretaries in New Delhi on January 6 and 7.

The three-day conference, which begins on January 5, will focus on six identified themes, those include thrust on MSMEs, infrastructure and investments, minimising compliances, women’s empowerment, health and nutrition and skill development, a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.

The conference is being organised by NITI Aayog and the meeting will be held at the ICAR-India Agricultural Research Institute.

The conference will witness participation of more than 200 people comprising of representatives of the Central Government, Chief Secretaries and other senior officials of all States/Union Territories and domain experts.

It will form the base for future collaborative action for achieving a Viksit Bharat with a thrust on growth and job creation and inclusive human development,” the statement added.

As per reports, the national conference will also have three special sessions on Viksit Bharat: Reaching the Last Mile, Five Years of Goods and Services Tax (GST) – Learnings and Experiences; and Global Geopolitical Challenges and India’s Response.

There will also be detailed discussions on Vocal for Local; International Year of Millets; G20: Role of States; and Emerging Technologies.

The overall objective of the conference is to focus on job creation and inclusive human development in order to meet the goal of “Viksit Bharat” (developed India) by 2047.  (KNN Bureau)
