FIA demands reduction in power tariff rates for MSMEs in Haryana

New Delhi, Oct 8 (KNN) MSME representing body, Faridabad Industries Association (FIA) has asked for power tariff rate reduction from the Haryana government on the similar lines as it has been announced for domestic consumers in the state.
Speaking to KNN India, Executive director of FIA, Col S Kapoor said that MSME sector in the state is fighting a very tough battle due to high power tariff rate.
He said that industrial tariff is highest in Haryana as compared to other neighboring states like Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan.
Every year power tariff rate has been increasing due to which MSMEs have become un-competitive in this competitive time, he added.
“In Haryana labour is expensive, land is expensive and power is also expensive, in such an expensive scenario it has become difficult for MSMEs even to survive,” said Kapoor.
In this regard, FIA has submitted a demand letter to the state Power Department.
Director of FIA said any relief in the power rates would result in an increase in the production and quality, one of the major needs of the sector.
