New Delhi, 1 Dec (KNN) Narayan Rane, Union Minister for MSMEs met the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her Parliament House office on Tuesday.

Both the ministers had a comprehensive discussion regarding enhancement of budget and continuation of flagship schemes of the Ministry of MSME, said the press release.

The MSME Minister Rane raised the issue of credit requirements of COVID-hit MSME units during his meet with the finance minister.

He also highlighted the need for credible policy for attracting the foreign investment exiting China to enhance the manufacturing capacity of the MSMEs.

Speaking on apathy and indifference of the Banks towards providing credit to MSMEs, the MSME Minister also shared with Finance Minister Sitharaman the feedback of the MSME entrepreneurs.

In response to this, she gave assurance to support and enhance the budget of MSME for the growth of the sector and informed that Banks will be asked to be sensitive to the needs of MSMEs and district level interactions will be held between the Bankers and the MSME borrowers.

Minister Rane voiced hope that with the support of the Finance Minister, MSME sector will lead in the economic recovery post- pandemic.
