FISME, Gujarat Chamber sign pact for joint MSME development initiatives
Ahmedabad, Nov 21 (KNN) Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) and Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI) signed a MoU in Ahmedabad last week to jointly undertake MSME development projects.
The pact was signed by Shailesh Patwari, President of GCCI and Prashant Patel, President FISME.
FISME being a central body would help GCCI tap bilateral and multilateral development funds for MSMEs in Gujarat and GCCI would share the best practices being followed for attracting investment and also success stories of Gujarati industries.
The MSME apex body organized the meeting of its Central Executive Committee in hybrid mode at the sprawling complex of Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad.
Later the executive committee members representing different parts of the country visited Naroda Industries Association Area (NIA) near Ahmedabad and inspected India’s first solid waste dumping site managed by its SPV, Naroda Enviro Projects Ltd (NEPL).
Besides, the Chairman of NEPL and a much respected industrialist of Ahmedabad Shailesh Patwari explained that the NEPL manages several projects including the Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs), Effluent Treatment Plant among others.
The NIA has been pioneer in India accessing the proceeds of Tax collected form the Industrial Estate and managing cleaning, upkeep of road, water distribution and security of the industrial estate.
FISME delegates also visited Sardar Dham, a pioneering initiative of Patidar community, to train youth for jobs and entrepreneurship.
Its Head office is located on S.P. Ring road, Ahmedabad and in one building alone more than 1800 students were undergoing training.
The infrastructure includes dormitories with community kitchen, several e-libraries, smart class rooms, meeting and convention halls. Similar infrastructure is being created in every city of Gujarat. (KNN Bureau)
