FISME Partners With KOSMA & KOSME To Unveil 3-Point Roadmap For India–Korea SME Ties In 2026

New Delhi, Jan 22 (KNN) South Korea’s SME promotion agency, KOSME, in partnership with the Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) and the Korean SMEs Association in India (KOSMA), unveiled a structured three-point engagement programme for 2026 aimed at deepening cooperation between Indian and Korean SMEs.

The roadmap focuses on technology collaboration, market entry, and joint manufacturing to facilitate Korean SMEs’ expansion into India while strengthening bilateral SME partnerships.

Workshop Highlights

The “2026 Workshop: Strategies & Collaboration for Korea–India SMEs” was held at the Global Business Center (GBC), bringing together senior officials and heads from KOSME, KOSMA, and FISME.

Key participants included LEE Jae Kyeong, Director, KOSME New Delhi GBC, Sandeep Kishore Jain, President, FISME, Park S H, Chairman, KOSMA, and other office bearers from both countries’ SME bodies and enterprises.

Speaking about the workshop, the FISME President said, “This was the first workshop we have held with South Korean SME associations in 2026. They are very keen to work with FISME and to explore opportunities in India. FISME and the SMEs present aim to encourage more South Korean SMEs to set up plants in India.”

Three-Point Korea–India SME Programme for 2026

The K-India Tech Solution Challenge is structured around three key pillars. The first focuses on AI-enabled technology matching, linking Indian production challenges with Korean technology solutions.

By collecting real production and process requirements from Indian firms, AI tools identify suitable Korean providers, supported by workshops, proof-of-concept testing, and joint R&D, streamlining the path from problem identification to solution implementation and reducing trial-and-error in technology scouting.

The second pillar, the K-SS Omni-Channel Residency Programme, helps Korean SMEs enter the Indian market through a hybrid online-offline model. Targeting sectors like beauty and food, it offers structured retail presence, live commerce sessions, and data-driven consumer insights to accelerate market validation, boost sales, and reduce entry risks.

The third pillar, the India–Korea JV Incubator for Supply Chain Diversification, promotes long-term industrial collaboration through joint ventures.

It supports Korean SMEs in establishing local production bases with Indian partners, enhancing supply chain resilience and integration into India’s manufacturing ecosystem, with advisory services covering legal, accounting, and operational guidance to ensure smooth execution.

FISME’s Recommendations and Way Forward

FISME highlighted the need for structured institutional support to ensure sustainable engagement, including access to Korean trade bodies, ongoing mentoring, and consistent B2B liaison mechanisms.

Recommendations included orientation programmes for Korean delegations, follow-up meetings with trade counselors, and coordinated action among KOSME, KOSMA, and FISME office bearers.

Participants emphasised that SME partnerships thrive when institutional frameworks actively lower entry barriers, maintain continuity, and provide dependable pathways for deals to mature.
