FISME Partners With SMECH & CRB For Nov 13 Workshop On Carbon-Tracking Tools For MSMEs

New Delhi, Nov 11 (KNN) A hands-on workshop aimed at helping micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) measure and manage their carbon emissions will be held on November 13 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, as part of the India Sustainability Standards (ISS) Summit 2025.

The two-hour in-person session, scheduled from 3 pm to 5 pm, will introduce free climate-action tools tailored for small businesses.

Titled ‘Building Climate-Ready MSMEs: Free Tools for Measuring and Managing Emissions’, the workshop is being hosted by the SME Climate Hub (SMECH) in partnership with the Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) and the Federation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME).

The session will demonstrate SMECH’s carbon calculators — simple online tools designed to help MSMEs measure emissions, establish baselines, and plan decarbonisation steps.

India’s MSMEs play a critical role in the country’s low-carbon transition but often lack the resources to begin measuring emissions.

With global regulatory pressures such as the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and increasing buyer requirements for climate disclosures, the organisers said MSMEs must build climate reporting capability to remain competitive in global supply chains.

The session will guide participants in identifying emission hotspots, planning reduction strategies and communicating climate efforts to stakeholders.

It will also address practical queries on measurement and reporting, while connecting MSMEs to a global initiative backed by the UN Race to Zero campaign.

MSECH, supported by the We Mean Business Coalition, Exponential Roadmap Initiative and UN Climate Change High-Level Champions, provides free resources to help SMEs commit to climate targets and track progress.

The workshop will offer a live demonstration of carbon calculators designed for businesses at different stages of their climate journey, from beginners to multi-site enterprises.

Participants are expected to leave with a basic understanding of how to calculate emissions, use climate tools and align with buyer and regulatory expectations as they take early steps toward decarbonisation.
