FISME Sets-up Helpdesk for MSMEs & Exporters for Online Certificate of Origin (CoO)
New Delhi, 11 Nov (KNN) Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME)- the national MSME body, has set-up a helpdesk to handhold a large number of MSME exporters scrambling to get themselves registered for online Certificate of Origin.
The Director General Foreign Trade (DGFT) had already notified that after 31st Oct 2021 physical certification of CoO will not be accepted.
DGFT has created a portal https://coo.dgft.gov.in/ where both the certifying agencies and the exporters are required to register.
But MSME exporters complained that they have not been able to register. Therefore, FISME has set-up the helpdesk which can be reached through phone 011-48460000 or request for support could be sent to emails: email@example.com or to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Exporters are advised to keep their IEC details and Digital Signature Certificate (Class 3) ready for registration. As the process requires Java it must be ensured that the system is java enabled or it would be required to be installed.
DGFT has also issued a separate gazette notification prescribing the fee at Rs. 200 per CoO plus taxes. The fee is charged online before a CoO is issued.
After registration, to get the CoO issued an exporter has to perform the following steps:
--- Login the DGFT CoO portal
--- Click ‘Make new application’
--- Choose ‘Non-preferential’ scheme
--- Select issuing Agencies and from dropdown menu select ‘Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME)
--- Fill shipment details
--- Attach digital signature
--- Make payment digitally
The CoO will be certified digitally by FISME and could be downloaded. If physical copies are needed the exporter can reach nearest FISME offices in Delhi, Hyderabad or Bangalore and get them physically certified.
