New Delhi, Jul 29 (KNN)  To inform the MSME community of the changes in the new Companies Act, identify features that are unfavourable and devise a strategy to take up the matter with appropriate government authorities, FISME is organising a workshop here.

The Consultation Workshop on Companies Act is scheduled to be held at the India Habitat Centre on August-4, starting at 10.30 AM.

“The Companies Act has thrown open a number of issues for companies. The new provisions needing urgent attention of the companies include loans to directors and related entities;  Inter Corporate Borrowings and Guarantees, Related Party Transactions; Fund raising through Private Placements; Disqualifications of Director and Vacation of office of Director; Provisions related to Private Companies; Board meeting through Video Conferencing and E-voting at General Meetings among others,” said the Federation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME) in a release.

FISME is organising the workshop in collaboration with corporate professionals- a reputed financial and legal consulting firm.

The twin objectives of the meeting are, “taking note of the changes with a view to inform the MSME community of emerging responsibilities and liabilities in the wake of the new Act; and developing a considered response on provisions found detrimental to the interests of MSMEs and firm up a strategy for taking them up to the appropriate levels in the Government,” the release said.  (KNN/ES)
