FISME to organize round table discussion on e-commerce in MSME sector

New Delhi, May 20 (KNN) Competition Commission of India and Ernest & Young in association with the Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) is organizing a round table meeting to understand the evolution, market trends and issues pertaining to businesses in e-commerce in the MSME sector.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on May 24, 2019 at the Office of the Competition Commission of India, New Delhi.

FISME, an apex body of MSME associations in the country, has sought views from  the MSMEs on the issue.

The round-table meet will give a platform to the participating MSMEs to share their thoughts, experiences, positive and negative aspects, difficulties & grievances and the challenges being faced by them with the senior officials etc.

The e-commerce (online sale of products & services) has made a significant impact on the seller and consumer market with respect to buying and selling of products & services.

As compared to markets in US, Europe and other countries, the e-commerce is at a nascent stage in India but still has made a remarkable impact. In times to come, the impact is expected to be huge. It is therefore, very important to have the right policies, procedures and other aspects in place before it is too late.

According to a report, the fast growing e-commerce market in India will touch USD 84 billion in 2021 from USD 24 billion in 2017 on account of a healthy growth in organised retail sector.
