FOIJ hails approval of J&K Single Window Act

New Delhi, Sept 15 (KNN) With the approval of J&K Single Window (Industrial Investment and Business Facilitation) Act, 2018 by Governor, Satya Pal Malik, Federation of Industries Jammu (FOIJ) has said that it will provide great relief to the industrial sector of J&K for the clearance of their files by the different government departments related to the industrial sector.

Hailing this initiative of Governor, FOIJ said “We hope that fresh Investment will be done by the prospective Investors.”

MSME body, FOIJ pointed that the industries department is the first to introduce the ease of doing concept with the sincere efforts of Shalindra Kumar, Principal Secretary of Industries & Commerce Department resulting overall improvement of the state ranking in the ease of doing concept adopted by the states in our country.

The association also appreciated the efforts of Pollution Control Department for the Improvement in the ease of doing concept by the introducing the ‘On Line issuing of Consent to the Industrial Units’.

But the time bound schedule should be adhered for the issue of consent to the Industrial Units, FOIJ pointed.

For further improvement in ease of doing concept, FOIJ suggested simplification of power sanction procedure for the industrial sector by the Power Development Department as at present it takes months to get the power connection due to cumbersome procedure adopted by the department.

The association informed the Governor that for the sanction of fresh power connection the files move between 16 tables of different wings of PDD resulting in the delay in the implementation of projects in spite of availability of land and other infrastructure for the setting up of new units.

Drawing the attention of Governor, FOIJ said that the industrial graph is going down day by day due to non availability of state/central fiscal incentives to new units and units under substantial expansion.

“It is the need of an hour to grant the state/central fiscal incentives to attract the new industrial investment in our state for providing employment opportunities to the local youths of the state,” said Jammu Industries Federation.

In this regard, FOIJ requested the Governor to extend the state fiscal incentives to new units and units under the substantial expansion and also take up the matter with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for the extension of central fiscal incentives at par with the North Eastern States to attract the new Investment in State to create the avenues for the employment of local youths.
