FOSMI to organize an awareness program on GeM

New Delhi, Nov 22 (KNN) Federation of small and medium industries (FOSMI) is organizing an awareness program on government e-Marketplace (GeM), in association with micro small medium enterprises (MSME) and telecommunication department, government of West Bengal.

FOSMI said it is very much imperative to create proper awareness about GeM.

It added that for those who are specifically dealing with public sectors and government departments.

Program will be held on 30th November 2018 at FOSMI office commencing from 4-00 p.m.

In the recent past, the Government of India has launched GeM SPV which will create a one stop Government e-Marketplace (GeM).

GeM was launched to facilitate online procurement of common use Goods and Services required by various Government Departments / Organizations / PSUs.

Basically GeM is an online market platform to facilitate procurement of goods and services by various Ministries and agencies of the Government.

GeM aims to enhance transparency, efficiency and speed in public procurement. It provides the tools of e-bidding, reverse e-auction and demand aggregation to facilitate the government users. 

The purchases through GeM by Government users have been authorized and made mandatory by Ministry of Finance.

Members who are genuinely interested to participate in the program are only requested to register their names with FOSMI by 28 November 2018.
