New Delhi, Jun 17 (KNN) France is keen to strengthen business engagement between Indian and French micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), with healthcare, luxury retail, construction and logistics identified as priority sectors for collaboration, officials said on Tuesday.
The remarks were made at an interactive session organised by the Merchants' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) in Kolkata, where officials from the French Embassy in India, Business France and the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry outlined efforts to bring more French MSMEs to India and foster bilateral partnerships, PTI reported.
Focus on MSME Partnerships
Estelle David, Director-South Asia, Business France, said "Our mission is to bring French MSMEs to India. Opportunities are there in healthcare, food and luxury retail."
The focus is on developing stronger business relationships between Indian and French MSMEs and facilitating partnerships in sectors with growth potential, she added.
French Consul General in Kolkata Thierry Morel noted that France remains committed to expanding economic ties with India, with cooperation envisaged in manufacturing, clean energy, aerospace and digital technology.
He described West Bengal's strategic location as a gateway to Southeast Asia, noting its skilled workforce and opportunities in logistics, clean energy and manufacturing.
West Bengal as a Focus Area
Florent Mangin, Chief of Service for Economic Affairs, French Embassy in India, said the French mission is actively exploring business opportunities in West Bengal.
