GeM cautions users on fraud citing incident closure
New Delhi, July 29 (KNN) The government has asked Government e Marketplace (GeM) users to stay vigilant as fraudulent cases related to closure of incidents have been noted in the recent past.
Imposters posing as GeM officials have asked for money in exchange for closure of incidents and all such frauds are being reported to the authorities for action.
The online platform for public procurement in India has mentioned that GeM never charges for closure of incidents.
Action on all the incidents are taken as per GeM incident policy based on merit of the case after evaluation of available facts, incident comments, attachments, contract/BID, Catalog details etc.
Further, if action on the incident is taken for order/bid incident, the seller can raise a mutual closure request and once the same is accepted by the buyer the incident gets closed automatically, said GeM.
It has cautioned against dealing with such fake entities and GeM assumes no responsibility for any funds transfers or cash deposits to them or any other resultant loss to any person or otherwise. (KNN Bureau)
