GeM platform constitutes 57% of order value from MSME sector: PM Modi
New Delhi, Mar 24 (KNN) The Government e Marketplace (GeM) constitutes 57 per cent of order value coming from MSME sector, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in one of his latest tweets.
Sharing this information on Twitter, he said the National Public Procurement Portal has achieved order value of Rs 1 lakh crore in a single year.
PM Modi tweeted, “Happy to know that GeM has achieved order value of Rs 1 lakh crore in a single year! This is a significant increase from previous years. The GeM platform is especially empowering MSMEs, with 57 per cent of order value coming from MSME sector.”
GeM is the main portal for procurement of goods and services for Central and State Government Organisations.
In FY 20-21, the annual procurement was Rs 38580 crore, which has increased since 2016-17 when the annual procurement was Rs 422 crore, said the official data.
It is also providing training for women entrepreneurs by various national and state women organisations with the launch of “Womaniya for Women entrepreneurs and Women-led Self-Help Groups (SHG)”. (KNN Bureau)
