Give discounts to hospitals registered under MSMEs: Labour Minister to UP govt

New Delhi, May 10 (KNN) Union Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar has suggested the Uttar Pradesh government, to give discounts to such hospitals, which are registered under Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Reportedly, Gangwar wrote a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday, expressing concern over the healthcare system in Bareilly in particular and Uttar Pradesh in general.

''The prices of medical equipment should be capped, while private hospitals registered under MSME should be given a discount,'' he suggested the state government.

Gangawar, a veteran BJP MP from Bareilly, also suggested that the need of the hour is to improve the healthcare infrastructure across the state. He also alleged that several senior officers responsible for maintaining healthcare in Bareilly never responded to distress phone calls.

The Union Minister also claimed that BiPAP machines, ventilators and other medical equipment used in hospitals were being hoarded and sold at higher prices.

''People, who have hoarded oxygen cylinders as a precautionary measure in their home should be identified and punished as due to them, oxygen cylinders are not reaching the needy,'' he said.

The Union minister further said that the government should allow Ayushman Bharat registered hospitals to vaccinate the youths for better utilisation of COVID vaccine.
