Ludhiana, Aug 6 (KNN) Highlighting the importance of strengthening linkage among various stakeholders of MSME innovation ecosystem to uplift MSME sector, a brief presentation on GIZ MSME INNOVATION project was made during round table on MSME Innovation Ecosystem.

Organized by GIZ, in support with District Industry Centre (DIC), Government of Punjab and Chamber of Industry and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), the round table aimed at strengthening the local MSME Innovation eco-system and developing a strong collaboration among industries, technical centres, R&D labs etc.

Possible approach towards leveraging project activities in Ludhiana for strengthening connect among local technical centres and MSMEs was also discussed.

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (MSME DI) apprised about various schemes supporting new innovative ideas, entrepreneurship, financial assistance for incubation etc.

This round table was essentially organized involving all government controlled MSME institutions such as MSME DI, DIC, Bicycle & Sewing Machine R&D Centre, Auto Parts Technology Institute, CSIR centre for Farm machinery development, R&D Department of Punjab Agriculture University and Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertaking (CICU) representing MSME perspective of 30 industry association members.

During the meeting, Punjab Agriculture University and CSIR provided details on various innovative projects and shows interest to share related information with MSMEs that can be beneficial for farm tools/machine manufacturers for upscaling.

Bicycle & Sewing Machine R&D Centre apprised participants about various facilities and services available at the centre for benefit of MSMEs.
