Google.org Invests $15 Million In The/Nudge To Boost AI Adoption Among Indian MSMEs

New Delhi, Oct 15 (KNN) Google.org has committed USD 15 million in funding to The/Nudge to support the growth and digital transformation of India's micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through artificial intelligence (AI).

Announced in New Delhi on October 14, the initiative will develop AI-powered solutions to improve MSMEs' access to formal credit, compliance tools and market opportunities.

Google.org Commits USD 15 Million To Support MSMEs

India has more than 90 million small businesses employing over 345 million people, according to the organisations, reported The Times Of India.

The programme will include an open call for proposals to identify innovative solutions addressing challenges related to credit access, regulatory compliance, quality standards and market discovery.

AI Platform To Train Local Talent In Smaller Towns

It will also establish a multilingual, voice-led platform to train local talent in Tier 3 and Tier 4 towns in job-ready skills and connect them with small businesses.

Preeti Lobana, VP and Country Manager, Google India, said the initiative aims to make advanced technology accessible and practical for small businesses across the country.

She said the partnership would provide entrepreneurs with open digital tools to help them benefit from AI-driven technologies.

Initiative To Improve MSME Competitiveness And Market Access

Subhashree Dutta, CEO, the^delta, said the initiative would use stage-gated grand challenges to support innovations addressing key barriers faced by MSMEs.

She added that the programme aims to develop open standards to improve the competitiveness, creditworthiness and market visibility of small businesses in domestic and international markets.

The initiative is part of Google's broader efforts to support India's national AI roadmap and expand the use of AI across the MSME sector.
