Govt announces linking 4 CFC for manufacturing SMEs under SMARTH scheme

New Delhi, Aug 24 (KNN) Eyeing at facilitating innovation and growth to the manufacturing sector comprising of fair share of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country, the government has decided to set up 4 Common Facility Centres under the Smart and Advanced Manufacturing and Rapid Transformation Hubs Scheme (SMARTH).

Heavy Industries Secretary, Girish Shankar informed that  the 4 centres would be linked into a hub. The prime focus of the hub would be to innovate on in the field of manufacturing in the country. The hub is expected to explore potential opportunities available in the global market and deploy them for the domestic manufacturing. The linked hub would be known as SMARTH Udyog.

The Secretary added that the linking of these common facility centres will push the agenda of Industrial Revolution 4.0 with a fresh boost.

The smart manufacturing will not only help the manufacturing sector in the country with access to global technologies but will also empower the domestic industry complete in the international market, the Secretary added.

The announcements were made an event organized by ASSOCHAM titled Manufacturing Conference-cum-Awards: Transform and Perform in New Delhi. Also states including Assam, Tripura, Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka were awarded for manufacturing excellence awards during the event. (KNN/ DA)
