Lucknow, Jul 1 (KNN) In order to encourage self-employment and start-ups, the government is keen to set up more skill development centres in the backward regions of the state.

Union Minister for MSME Kalraj Mishra yesterday told media that more skill development centres would be set up in backward regions like Bundelkhand, eastern UP and also in the Awadh region of Uttar Pradesh.

Mishra further said that the skill development centres would prepare people to set up industries in the regions having the raw material for it.

Besides setting up these centres, his ministry was also making arrangements for high technology training of the entrepreneurs with engineering background, said Mishra, as quoted in a media report.

MSME Minister also raised concerns over problems being faced in setting up industry in the state.

He also pointed out to several issues with banks, and labour laws which entrepreneurs mostly complain about.

His ministry is now working on strengthening the single window system, he said.  (KNN/SD)
