Govt procurement from Micro and Small Enterprises lowest in FY23 at Rs 9,665 cr

New Delhi, Aug 1 (KNN) The procurement by central government from Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) so far in the current financial year has been the lowest at Rs 9,665.35 since FY18.

The data is sourced from Sambandh Portal as on July 28, 2022, said Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, MoS MSME on Monday in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.

The previous fiscal accounted for the highest procurement by centre from MSEs in the last six years at Rs 52,374.22 crore.

MoS MSME in his reply shared the details of procurement by various Central Government, ministries, and departments including the Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) since the year 2017-18.

In FY21 the procurement was at Rs 40,817.78 crore, Rs 40,399.70 crore in FY19 and Rs 39,049.45 crore in FY20.

Six years ago in 2017-18 the procurement by government from MSEs was at Rs 26,357.46 crore.  (KNN Bureau)
