Govt To Launch MSE TEAM Initiative To Boost MSME E-Commerce Integration
New Delhi, Aug 12 (KNN) The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is rolling out the MSE TEAM (Trade Enablement and Marketing) initiative, a sub-scheme under the World Bank-supported Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme.
The initiative aims to equip Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) with digital tools and guidance to leverage e-commerce platforms.
Minister of State for MSME Shobha Karandlaje shared this information in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
The initiative seeks to integrate MSEs with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to help widen their customer base and increase revenue.
Beneficiaries will receive assistance in areas such as onboarding, digital cataloguing, account management, transport and logistics, and packaging, alongside training and capacity-building support.
Under the plan, 5 lakh MSEs are expected to benefit, with half of them being women-owned enterprises. Special outreach activities are being planned in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities to drive participation.
The ministry is also promoting other marketing and trade platforms.
The eKhadi India portal offers Khadi and Village Industries products—including apparel, groceries, cosmetics, home décor, health and wellness items—directly from artisans, weavers, and small enterprises.
Integrated with the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), the portal features only authentic Khadi Trade Mark products.
Similarly, the MSME Global Mart, operated by the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), serves as a B2B online marketplace connecting MSMEs with domestic and global buyers, offering marketing support, visibility enhancement, trade leads, and tender information.
The Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) scheme further facilitates market access by enabling MSMEs to participate in trade fairs, exhibitions, and buyer-seller meets, while supporting micro-enterprises with financial assistance for onboarding on the MSME Global Mart and related subscription costs.
GeM itself serves as a unified government procurement platform offering e-bidding, reverse auctions, and other tools to improve transparency, efficiency, and speed in public procurement.
