Govt wants enterprises at home for import substitution

New Delhi, Dec 31 (KNN) With a view to saving the precious foreign exchange, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Minister KH Muniyappa has said persons trained in the areas having high potential of import substitution should impart training and set up enterprises.

On the occasion of the 30th Governing Council meeting of the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), he said the government wants improvement of employability of the trained persons and promotion of enterprises.

The minister also released a book on “Curriculum of Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs), Entrepreneurship-cum-Skill Development Programmes (ESDPs), Training of Trainers (ToTs) and Management Development Programmes (MDPs)”.

The book which was published by NIESBUD contains the standardized and vetted course contents of different training programmes being organized under the “Assistance to Training Institutions” (ATI) Scheme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

Speaking on the occasion, Muniyappa referred to the recent efforts of the ministry to impart greater effectiveness to the entire exercise of training and maintaining its relevance in the changing scenario.  (KNN/ST)
