GRP Portal To Provide Supply Opportunities To Women Entrepreneurs

New Delhi, Jan 17 (KNN) The Gender Responsive Procurement (GRP) program is to open new opportunities for women owned enterprises through a dedicated portal where women entrepreneurs can sign up and view the procurement needs of corporations.

Tripti Somani, Founder, Womennovator the entity that has developed the portal,  shared insights into the initiative exclusively with KNN, emphasising its focus on channelling revenues into the hands of women.

Tripti explained, "It's a portal where you can see what corporate entities are buying and express interest if your business aligns with their needs. We facilitate direct meetings between women entrepreneurs and the procurement teams."

In a recent interview with KNN, she revealed the genesis of the program, stating, "In 2018, we partnered with Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and the Ministry of MSME to make it mandatory for corporations to procure 3 per cent (from within the 25 per cent target for Micro and Small Enterprises) from women-owned businesses. Today, it is an obligation for every corporate and PSU."

The significance of corporations participating in the program was stressed by Tripti, who mentioned that the impact exceeds the act of hiring a woman by purchasing from women-owned businesses. Employment doesn't stop at one woman; it extends to supporting approximately over 100 people. The impact is seen as more profound than traditional CSR efforts while achieving ESG goals.

In a formal communication to potential partners, Womennovator extended an invitation for collaboration, highlighting significant opportunities with large corporations seeking suppliers across various categories.

The organisation emphasised the mutual benefits of partnering, including upfront opportunities for women members, amplified impact, enhanced visibility, networking, corporate recognition, and an avenue to demonstrate corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The call for women entrepreneurs to join Womennovator's GRP campaign comes with a promise of exclusive access to substantial bulk orders from corporate and government entities.

The initiative aims to promote women's participation in procurement, open doors to a rich network of opportunities, provide visibility and recognition, and showcase women's products and services to corporates.

Womennovator encourages organisations to nominate eligible women entrepreneurs without any registration fees, making this a truly inclusive opportunity.

As Womennovator continues to drive change with its Gender Responsive Procurement program, the call echoes for women entrepreneurs across India to seize this transformative opportunity and contribute to reshaping the corporate landscape while fostering economic empowerment and gender equality.
