New Delhi, Dec 26 (KNN) Batting for the tax reform in the country, the Minister of State (I/C) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Giriraj Singh recently said that Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a constructive reform for the different sectors including the MSMEs in the country.

MSME Minister Giriraj Singh made the following remarks during a press interaction in Ludhiana. He was there to review the scheme of central government for the MSME sector.

Singh further said that the government is not just committed to support the large enterprises but also for the micro, small and medium enterprises since they form a large share of contribution as well as employment generation.

Outlining the framework being adopted by the MSME Ministry at the centre, Singh said that his office is looking at establishing industrial hubs a per the local geographical parameters.

Assuring support to the MSMEs, Singh added that the government is up for taking steps to help the MSMEs in the country.

Singh also visited the Ludhiana honey cluster during his visit.

Singh’s remarks in Ludhiana comes in the backdrop of the MSMEs earlier this month protesting against the state government for nnot being able to implemented the 5 rupee revised power tariff, following which the MSMEs called for a  state wide hunger strike.

However the strike was called off as the state government assured industry of immediate steps.  (KNN/DA)
