Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel approved All-Women Industrial Area in Sanand GIDC estate, with a motive to encourage women entrepreneurs to contribute in industrial growth of the state. 500-1000 sq mt plots will be provided to women to undertake their entrepreneurial activities.
She directed officials to speed up the procedures involved and undertake an efficient and transparent process to allot plots in this area. This will prove to be an important initiative by the state government to facilitate women empowerment. 50 per cent of the cost will be extended by Government of Gujarat, which has been already provided for in the budget, according to a release.
This decision will fulfill the requests made by various women enterprises to provide specific encouragement to women-owned and managed industrial units, the release said.
CM Patel has also approved the proposal to build multi-storeyed industrial sheds (Vertical Estate) in existing GIDC estates where there are few remaining plots for further allotment. According to this, Vertical Estates will be built in Lodhika and Chhatral GIDC estates.
As per this scheme, 50-100 sq mt-fully equipped industrial sheds will be provided to MSMEs as per their requirements. Ground floor of this Vertical Estate will be allotted to parking and on other four floors built up areas ranging from 50 to 100 sq mt will be allotted to micro and small units. About 20 industrial units would be accommodated in the estate. 50 per cent of the cost will be provided by Government of Gujarat to GIDC, which in turn will extend the benefit to MSMEs, by allotment at affordable cost.
“This initiative will empower MSMEs in Gujarat that will in turn boost Gujarat’s industrial growth,” the release said.
Apart from this, over 15 Industrial Parks were granted in-principle approvals during the State Level Empowered Committee meeting held in Gandhinagar today. These parks will have well-developed plots earmarked for MSMEs.
“Important and visionary decisions taken by CM Patel will prove to be significant in strengthening the already thriving MSME sector, women entrepreneurship and will generate employment for large number of youth,” said the release. (KNN Bureau)
