Gujarat to organise sports event for rural artisans

Gandhinagar, Dec 2 (KNN) The Department of Sports, Youth and Cultural activities of the Government of Gujarat is planning to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on a grand scale.
For the occasion, the Gujarat Rural Industries Marketing Corporation Limited (GRIMCO) is looking to purchase various sports kits in large quantity to play games such as cricket, chess, carom, badminton, volley ball and skipping rope.
In this regard, GRIMCO has sought bids from manufacturers and authorised dealers to provide the same.
GRIMCO which is a public enterprise constituted under the aegis of Gujarat Rural Industries Department, implements several welfare schemes to benefit state rural artisans.
It provides market support for goods produced by the rural artisans and attempts to provide employment to artisans near their residences to ensure they earn their livelihood with self-respect. (KNN/ST)
