Handloom weavers to showcase products in craft melas, Dilli Haat

New Delhi, Sept 15 (KNN) Handloom weavers across the country will get an opportunity to exhibit and sell their products in various craft melas to be held for the period upto October 2015.

In order to ensure overall development of handlooms, the Ministry of Textiles will be organising exhibitions such as Toshila Nation Crafts Mela in Bhubaneshwar, Shilparaman in Madhapur, Surajkund Crafts Mela, Shilpgram in Udaipur, Taj Mahotsav in Agra and Master Creation Programme at Dilli Haat.

In this regard, the Development Commissioner (Handlooms) is seeking applications from interested handloom weavers for participation in the various crafts melas as also in Dilli Haat.

The Office of the Development commissioner has been involved in activities like developing the handloom clusters and empowering the weavers with a provision of new looms, CFC, yarn depot and buyer–seller meet.

It has a mission to focus on flexible and holistic approach to meet the challenges of domestic and global market. (KNN/ST)
