Haryana CM emphasises on role of MSMEs in job creation

Chandigarh, Mar 5 (KNN) Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that since his government assumed office, employment had been provided to 2.03 lakh persons in the private sector, including 1.24 lakh in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

He said that during the last three-and-a-half years, his government had not only done well on providing jobs and skilling the youth of the state but also lived up to its credentials of openness, merit, transparency and no nepotism in matters of recruitment.

Speaking to media persons on Sunday, Khattar said aart from this, investment of Rs 45,000 crore has been made and as a result of the MoUs inked during the Happening Haryana Summit, as many as 136 projects have already been set up with investment of Rs 18,000 crore.

Giving details about the skilling of youth, the Chief Minister said that out of the total target of 2.27 lakh, 1.17 lakh youth had been trained in different sectors, and, out of these, 37,134 had been placed in keeping with their specific areas of skilling.

In addition to the Haryana Skill Development Mission, a Skill Development University has also been set up in the state to train the youth in about 800 different trades and sectors.

Khattar also emphasized on importance of skill development and MSMEs for job absorption with the growing number of aspirants.

Khattar said while 37,000 aspirants have been placed after skill development, their target was over two lakh placements.

He said with over 8,000 MSMEs, Gurugram is the leader in state in the small scale enterprises.
