IGNOU Launches New Bachelor's Programme in MSME Management
New Delhi, Jan 9 (KNN) The Indira Gandhi National Open University has introduced a Bachelor of Arts programme in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (BAMSME).
The initiative, developed under the university's School of Vocational Education and Training, marks a strategic move to nurture entrepreneurial talent across India.
The three-year programme, commencing in January 2025, comprises 120 credits and will be delivered through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) methodology.
Designed with flexibility in mind, students can extend their study period up to six years, making it accessible for those balancing education with other commitments. The annual fee is set at Rs. 5,100, with a total programme cost of Rs. 15,300.
IGNOU's BAMSME curriculum emphasises practical entrepreneurship skills, incorporating market trend analysis, venture planning, sustainable business practices, and leadership development.
The competency-based approach aims to prepare students for the challenges of modern business management, with admission open to candidates who have completed their 10+2 education or equivalent.
The programme, offered in English medium with admission cycles in January and July, reflects IGNOU's dedication to strengthening India's MSME sector through education.
This initiative aligns with the growing need for skilled entrepreneurs who can navigate the complexities of small and medium enterprise management while contributing to the nation's economic growth.
