Indian Staffing Federation asks govt to provide social security to MSME employees
New Delhi, Jan 19 (KNN) Underlining the strength of MSME workforce at nearly 120 million, the Indian Staffing Federation (ISF) has recommended the government to offer them social security.
The industry apex body has also urged the government to introduce schemes similar to the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) and Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) for sectors like agriculture, construction and other industries.
Such schemes are important for these sectors because they have a large number of informal workforce, said ISF stating that it will help to increase the rate of formal jobs in the country.
Expressing its anticipation from the forthcoming Budget, ISF also said it was looking forward to seeing the early implementation of new labour codes and was expecting more clarity.
It also urged the government to extend social security benefits for millions of gig and domestic workers. (KNN Bureau)
