Industry Associations to assemble against ban of DG Set in NCR

New Delhi, Sept 27 (KNN) Federation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME) is holding a meeting on September 28 against the order of Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) use of diesel generator (DG) set in NCR.
The industry associations will discuss the issue followed by the signing of a joint petition and an interaction with media at 4 pm.
Last week, FISME Vice President Rakesh Chhabra had urged Minister of State (MoS) for MSME Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma to allow usage of DG sets during maintenance related power cut.
The Minister had visited Rai Industries Association (RIA) in Sonipat to interact with MSMEs and industries.
Speaking exclusively with KNN, Rakesh Chhabra President of RAI said, “We have requested the Minister to allow DG sets when there is power cut due to maintenance. It will be difficult for industries to function as from October 1 when the pollution levels are expected to start increasing, DGs are not allowed as per Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) norms.”
In this matter MoS MSME said that the state government must send a request to CAQM along with a copy to Ministry of MSME.
CAQM has made it illegal in NCR to use DG sets from October 1 to check pollution during winter.
This makes the industry apprehensive with the deadline coming to an end. (KNN Bureau)
