New Delhi, Nov 19 (KNN) Welcoming the launch of Technology Acquisition and Development Fund (TADF) under National Manufacturing Policy today, the Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) said it’s a commendable initiative.

By announcing the TADF, the Commerce and Industry Ministry took a lead over Ministry of MSME in supporting acquiring of clean, green and energy efficient technology by MSMEs, a commendable initiative indeed.

FISME, which has a network of around 750 MSME associations, noted that all the initiatives taken were supposed to be covered under the various components of the NMCP scheme of the Ministry of MSME which are on a sluggish mode after their launching a decade back.

The NMP announced by the previous UPA Government about four year back is also in suspended animation mode and it may be expected that with the present initiative, other guidance of the NMP, particularly regarding simplified labour norms and reservation of plots, in NMIZs, for MSMEs will also be implemented soon.

TADF is a new scheme to facilitate acquisition of Clean, Green & Energy Efficient Technologies, in form of Technology / Customised Products / Specialised Services / Patents / Industrial Design available in the market available in India or globally, by MSMEs.

The Scheme is conceptualised to catalyse the manufacturing growth in MSME sector to contribute to the national focus of “Make in India”, Commerce Ministry said in a release today. (KNN/ DB)
