Jammu, Dec 1 (KNN) The city based micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are demanding shifting of LPG Bottling plant of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation from the SIDCO Industrial Complex.

The MSME entrepreneurs have raised concerns that the LPG Bottling Plant could be hazardous for the industries in the area and it also causes traffic congestion in the area due to movement of heavy tankers and trucks.

In this regard, the Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) and members of other industry associations held a meeting to discuss the issue.

BBIA President Lalit Mahajan said, “The meeting was conducted to discuss the serious issue related to the working of Hindustan Petroleum LPG Bottling Plant from SIDCO Industrial Complex Bari Brahmana which can cause fire hazard and is creating hurdles in the movement of the traffic in the Industrial Complex.”

The members present in the meeting raised serious concerns in respect of safety of their units and workers working adjoining to the Bottling Plant.

The entrepreneurs said in case of any “mis-happening” the entire Industrial Complex will turn into a fireball resulting into loss of thousands of human lives and would also incur huge financial losses.

Some members also pointed the mess due to un-authorized parking of Tankers & Trucks outside bottling plant resulting into major traffic jam.

“Due to the traffic mess, the precious time of unit holders is wasted every day and we fear that in case of any accident with the involvement of LPG Tankers & Trucks due to leakage of Gas, a massive fire may break out in the Industrial Complex which will create havoc,” pointed the members.

The MSMEs have urged the State Industries & Commerce Minister Chander Parkash to take up the matter immediately with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation for shifting the LPG Bottling plant as early as possible from SIDCO Industrial Complex Bari Brahmana to some other suitable place. (KNN Bureau)
