Jitan Ram Manjhi Assures Coordination On Raw Material Price Concerns

Chennai, Feb 27 (KNN) Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi on Thursday said the issue of rising raw material prices falls under multiple ministries, including finance, industry and steel, and assured stakeholders that he would coordinate with the concerned departments to address MSME concerns.

Speaking at an interactive meeting with industry associations and institutions at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore, the minister highlighted the significant contribution of MSMEs to economic growth and employment generation, particularly for youth.

He reaffirmed the government’s full support to the sector and said he would engage with the relevant ministries between March 9 and 15, 2026, to take up key issues raised by industry representatives, reported The Times Of India.

During the event, Manjhi released a compiled MSME handbook detailing government schemes, compliance requirements and growth opportunities for enterprises.

He also launched an industry–academia initiative aimed at strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and MSMEs, and unveiled the Coimbatore MSME database, a digital marketplace designed to enhance networking and business prospects in the region.

V Sundaram, Director, Codissia Defence Innovation and Atal Incubation Centre, requested the minister to facilitate an appointment with the defence minister for the inauguration of the newly constructed Rs 8 crore exclusive building of the Defence Innovation Centre at CODISSIA Industrial Park in Kallapalayam. Manjhi assured that he would coordinate in this regard.

Representatives of various industry associations submitted memorandums outlining sector-specific concerns and recommendations to the minister at the conclusion of the meeting.

Earlier in the day, Manjhi inaugurated a new building at Nirmala College of Arts and Science for Women in Redfields, distributed certificates to faculty members and students, and interacted with them on the role of women in nation-building and the importance of youth in driving India’s development.
