New Delhi, Oct 29 (KNN) Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Kalraj Mishra attended the Indo-Africa Forum Summit where he met a delegation from Mauritius to promote bilateral cooperation in the MSME sector.

Almost 40 heads of state are present in the capital to take part in India-Africa Forum Summit from October 26-29. This gathering would include world's oldest serving leader, 91-year-old Robert Mugabe; the colourful Jacob Zuma; the polygamous Swaziland king, Mswati III, and Nobel Peace Prize winner Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Africa's first female president.

Key issues on which participants focused in the Summit include public health, UN Security Council reforms, terrorism, and climate change. Another major area of focus was the growing trade and investment relationship between India and Africa.

Since 2010, Africa’s FDI in India has been high as compared to its FDI in countries such as China and the US. However, the primary reason is that Mauritius is the biggest source of FDI into India.

Lots of investments flow from India into Mauritius mainly due to its favourable tax treaty with India. (KNN Bureau)
