Karimnagar DC asks bankers to increase MSME lending in district

Karimnagar, June 9 (KNN) Addressing an outreach programme the District collector of Karimnagar RV Karnan told the bankers to encourage small traders and support their business by increasing more loans to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The event was organised on Wednesday as a part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav at the Revenue Gardens.

Appreciating the bankers for lending credit to cooperative groups in a big way, he highlighted the various schemes implemented by the Telangana government for the betterment of society.

The Collector distributed Rs 114.24 crore worth of loans to 1,017 groups. Of these, while State Bank of India provided Rs 10.43 crore loans to 40 cooperative groups, KDCC Bank provided Rs 7.63 crore to 178 groups, Rs 25.35 crore to 183 groups by union Bank of India.

He claimed that the state government is the first one in India to implement a scheme on the comprehensive growth of Dalits.

Under Dalit Bandhu scheme, Rs 10 lakh is being deposited in the bank accounts of Dalit families.

Bankers were also lending loans under Prime Minister Svanidhi, Mudra, PMJJY and other schemes, he said and asked bankers to provide banking services to every customer.  (KNN Bureau)
