Kerala govt issues 11,878 MSME acknowledgement certificates to start businesses

Kochi, Feb 19 (KNN) The Kerala government has claimed that it has issued MSME acknowledgement certificates to around 11,878 MSMEs to start their business in the State.

This was said by Governor of Kerala Arif Mohammed Khan at the beginning of the state budget session on Friday.

Speaking about the industrial policy, he said that the government is working on a scheme for private industrial park which will be launched this year, and assistance for infrastructure development in the park would be provide by the government. 

Highlighting the significance of environmental social governance (ESG), he said that a new programme giving boost to ESG is currently being promoted to garner responsible investments. 

Sectors such as electronic manufacturing, life sciences, including pharma, petrochemical industries, aviation, food processing, e-mobility and defence are some of the areas the state will focus on to attract investments, he informed. 

In the address it was stated that this year a mega food processing park at Cherthala, Kerala Paper Products Ltd. and Kerala Rubber Ltd. would start with its operations.

In view of growing online businesses, the governor informed the state assembly that an 

e-commerce portal would be launched for marketing of the products and professional designers would be engaged for introduction of contemporary designs and branding. (KNN Bureau)
