Manohar Parrikar will be remembered for his excellent contribution: SMEs
New Delhi, Mar 18 (KNN) As the nation mourns the demise of Manohar Parrikar, the Chief Minister of Goa and former defence minister, the country's small and medium entrepreneurs say he will be remembered for his excellent contribution in the growth and development of the country.
He was a visionary whose contribution to the state and the country as a defence minister is remarkable.
Remembering Parrikar’s role as a Defence Minister, Ex-President of FISME from Goa, Sangam Kurade said “Though his tenure was for less than 3 years in Defence Ministry but the changes in procurement policy and the book that he wrote on the procurement policy will help MSMEs in long run.”
He said that the Parrikar has setup a ball rolling which the present and the future defence minister shall certainly follow.
His book on procurement policy in defence will definitely going to help MSMEs in short term, medium term and in long term as the major focus has been given to boost indigenous defense production, he added.
He was the person who understood the pain points of MSMEs as he himself was a MSME who owned two industrial units before entering politics, said Kurade.
FISME in its Condolence message said “His elevation to Raksha Mantri, Defence Minister of India, has been acme of his career. He restored trust in the defence procurement process which had got mired in controversies over a decade.”
While the nation remembers him as a brilliant mind and a well-meaning good leader, MSMEs of the country also cherish and are proud of the accomplishment of a fellow MSME entrepreneur. (KNN/YV)
