MIA hails Karnataka govt move to exempt small units from obtaining trade license

Mysore, Sept 5 (KNN)  Mysore Industries Association (MIA) has welcomed the exemption of obtaining trade license to small scale industries established in notified industrial areas.

“The Urban Development Department, Government of Karnataka in a circular dated August 27, 2014 has exempted small and medium scale Industries established in notified Industrial Areas from taking trade licenses from Municipalities and City Corporations of the state,” MIA said in a release.

Commenting on the move, Mysore Industries Association President P. Vishwanath and General Secretary Suresh Kumar Jain expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah for fulfillment of this long pending demand of Small Scale Industries.

As per the circular, small scale industries located in the industrial Suburb of Vishswarnagar, Bannimantap and Yadavagiri industrial areas of Mysore are not required to take trade licenses from the Mysore City Corporation.

Further, the government circular said that objections by residents in the industrial area citing nuisance by industries will no longer be entertained.

The circular is applicable to all micro, small and medium industries established in notified industrial estate / area coming under town municipality, corporation, and BBMP limits.

Trade License is a certificate/document which grants you permission to carry on the particular trade or business for which it is issued. It does not confer ownership of property or permission for any other activity than for which it is issued. (KNN/ES)
