Ministry Details 5 Years Of Digital Technology & Infrastructure Initiatives For MSMEs
New Delhi, Dec 11 (KNN) The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) on Thursday informed the Lok Sabha about the steps taken over the past five years to promote the adoption of digital technology and infrastructure among MSMEs across India.
Digital Technology Initiatives
In written reply to a question, Minister of State for MSME Shobha Karandlaje highlighted that under the broader Digital India programme, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) provides services focusing on Digital Infrastructure as a Utility, Governance and Services on Demand, and the Digital Empowerment of Citizens and MSMEs.
To further advance digitalisation, the Ministry of MSME, in collaboration with stakeholders, has rolled out a range of initiatives and platforms.
These include the Udyam Portal for MSME registration and facilitation, the MSME Champions Portal to identify and address enterprise challenges, and the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) for procurement and sales opportunities.
The Minister said that financial support is enhanced through the Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS) for liquidity and invoice discounting, while MSME TEAM provides training and skill development.
MSME SAMBANDH supports startups and entrepreneurship, the PMEGP Portal facilitates the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme, KVIC Online manages Khadi and Village Industries Commission schemes, and the PM Vishwakarma Portal assists artisans and craftspersons.
Additionally, the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Portal offers a digital mechanism for grievance and dispute redressal.
