Mizoram CM Launches Micro & Small Entrepreneurs Excellence Project In Aizawl

Aizawl, Feb 13 (KNN) In a move to strengthen the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in Mizoram, Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Thursday launched the Micro & Small Entrepreneurs Excellence Project at the I&PR Conference Hall in Aizawl.

The initiative is being jointly organised by the Mizoram Government and the Confederation of Indian Industry, Centre for Excellence on Employment & Livelihood (CII-CEL), reported The Times On India.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the Mizo community has long been recognised for its skills and craftsmanship and holds strong potential in the MSME sector. He noted that several Mizo youths had won accolades at the IndiaSkills Competition last year, reflecting the talent pool available in the state.

Lalduhoma emphasised the importance of empowering entrepreneurs to become self-reliant and stated that the Government’s flagship Hand-holding Scheme was designed to create meaningful opportunities for them.

He observed that many MSME owners in Mizoram have built their livelihoods through determination and initiative and expressed confidence that the newly launched project would help them scale up their businesses.

Highlighting the expertise of CII, the Chief Minister said CII-CEL has successfully implemented similar initiatives in other states and would bring valuable experience to Mizoram’s MSME ecosystem.

He further stated that Mizoram was fortunate to receive support from the Volvo Group under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, enabling local MSME owners to participate in the programme free of cost.

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to both CII-CEL and the Volvo Group for their partnership in promoting entrepreneurship and strengthening the MSME landscape in the state.
